About Lemonbaum
A little glamour for a very unglamorous job
Portraiture used to be reserved for kings, saints, and queens — people the world had already decided mattered. Ordinary life, especially the parts done by women, rarely got that treatment. Nobody commissioned a portrait of someone getting a cake out of the oven before it burned.
Lemonbaum exists because I think that's a shame. So this shop is full of women rendered with the same seriousness Old Masters gave royalty — except instead of a battle or a coronation, they're holding a bowl of bread, mid-recipe, having a completely ordinary Tuesday. The joke is that it's treated like it matters. The truth is, I think it actually does.
How this started
What I didn't expect was how many people would see themselves in it right away — not because they look like a Renaissance queen, but because the feeling underneath is one every home cook knows: something didn't go quite to plan, and you served it anyway, and it was great regardless.
My background is in Graphic Design, and that's the eye every piece in this shop is filtered through: not just "does this look nice," but does it have the atmosphere and the composition of something worth hanging.
How the artwork is made
I'll be straightforward about this, because I think you deserve to know exactly what you're buying.
Every piece in this shop starts with an idea — a mood, a story, a specific feeling I'm trying to get on the wall. I develop that idea using generative AI as part of my creative process, working through many rounds of prompting, experimenting, and refining until something matches the picture in my head. From there, nothing is left to chance: I select the strongest results myself, refine the composition, color, and detail, and prepare each finished piece for print.
AI is a tool in that process — a very good one — but the concept, the direction, the selection, and the final call on what's good enough to sell are entirely mine. Every piece you see here passed through my own judgment before it reached this shop. The result is AI-assisted artwork, created under human creative direction, and printed as a piece considered carefully enough to actually deserve your wall.
